Remembering 9/11 & Two Great Quotes

Tonight my family watched a documentary about the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.  Our oldest child was just 6 months old at the time.   Little did I know how that day would affect our Country...and our family.

My heart still aches for all those families who lost loved ones that day.  But those were not the only casualties.  So many more have lost brave young men and women fighting to preserve our freedoms.

Our family alone is proud of two young men who enlisted in the Marine Corp because they wanted to protect our American way of life.  One of those will never be able to pursue his dream of working in law enforcement because of an injury he received in Kuwait.  My husband Tom would have enlisted on September 12th, but was not eligible because of his age.  Instead, he went to Baghdad, Iraq and worked there for 18 months to help our Armed Forces to be more comfortable while away from their families and friends.  To say that I admire these men is an understatement.

As Ronald Reagan stated so boldly, "to preserve our blessed land we must look to God... It is time to realize that we need God more than He needs us. Let us, young and old, join together, as did the First Continental Congress, in the first step, in humble heartfelt prayer. Let us do so for the Love of God and His great goodness, in search of His guidance and the grace of repentance, in seeking His blessings, His peace, and the resting of His kind and holy hands on ourselves, our nation, our friends in the defense of freedom, and all mankind, now and always. "

Please keep our Country in your prayers.
We all have memories of that fateful day or how it has impacted our lives.  Do you have a story you'd like to share?
